If you have a dog, cat or other pet, and you've moved to Bulgaria or come on holiday — sooner or later you'll need services: an evening when you can't walk the dog, a day trip to Nesebar, grooming or a vet visit without driving to the clinic. Here are the average 2026 prices, how to pick a reliable sitter, and how to avoid trouble.

What's available

Dog walking — 30 or 60 minutes, single or monthly pass.

Pet sitting — for a holiday, business trip, hospital stay. At your home (sitter visits), at the sitter's home (pet lives there), at a boarding facility.

At-home grooming — cut, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning. The groomer brings their own table and tools.

How to pick a reliable sitter / walker

1. Experience with your breed. Chihuahuas and Huskies are different worlds. Ask specifically: «have you worked with my breed?».
2. Documents. For vets — diploma and licence. For groomers and animal behaviourists — course certificates. For walkers — references from 2–3 clients.
3. Meet-and-greet before starting. A good sitter offers a free first meeting to bond with the pet and discuss specifics.
4. Video/photo updates. Standard on walks and boarding. If they refuse, be cautious.
5. Written agreement. For longer boarding (5+ days), sign a simple agreement covering conditions, liability, contacts.
